Aplikiou mine lake (click here for the location on google maps) was active during 1968-71 and got its name from the surrounding area toponym, which was Apliki. This is a surface type mine and the excavation hole of the Mine due to its abandonment, retains an amount of water. The remaining minerals of the mine, turn the color of the water into a deep kind of turquoise color. Resulting to an astonishing delight for eyes of the visitor. My photographs below, are the result of two visits and shootings on various times of the day, thus a lot of changes of the sunlight. Enjoy .
